What is cold press juicer and how does it work?

A cold press juicer, also known as a masticating juicer, works by pressing fruits and vegetables to extract their juice, rather than using high-speed blades like a traditional juicer. This results in a higher yield of juice, as well as a pulp byproduct or leftover fiber.

Super Juice Simple Recipes

I was sooo anxious to try out my juicer and see how the juices tasted. I could not believe the outcome. Not only were these juices all-natural, unprocessed, and healthy, they also tasted delicious. This reminds me of when I started making mash from scratch. I chopped the fruits, juiced them, and drank. Here are the juices I made:

  1. Cucumber and cantaloupe - 2nd place same fruit families are best together

  2. Pear - 1st place and my favorite

  3. Kale and cilantro - come in last place

  4. Grapefruit - 3rd place, this was surprisingly great

  5. Berry mixed - 4th place. With this, I had allowed frozen fruit to defrost. Big no no. Everything turned to mush and it didn't juice much. This practically went straight through. Little to no juice was produced.

What to do with the juicer remains?

The pulp is known as a byproduct of juicing, but it can still have several uses. Here are a few ideas for what you can do with pulp from a cold press juicer:

1. Add it to smoothies: The pulp can be added to smoothies to bulk them up and give them added fiber and nutrients.

2. Make soups or broths: The pulp can be used to make soups or broths, contributing flavor, texture, and nutrition.

3. Make crackers: The pulp can be mixed with flour and other ingredients to make crackers, which are a great option for a healthy snack.

4. Add it to baked goods: The pulp can be added to baked goods such as muffins, bread, or cake, to increase their nutritional content and fiber.

5. Make compost: If you have a compost pile, you can add the pulp to it as a nutrient-rich addition to your soil.

You can use the pulp left over from a cold press juicer in a variety of ways, allowing you to get the most out of your fruits and vegetables.

This was my first time juicing and not my last. Fruits I couldn't wait to get my hands on for more experimenting were watermelons, berries, breadfruit, oranges, and lime.
