Create a Wix Blog Post from Your Phone: Tutorial and Publishing Checklist
Updated: 5 days ago
A useful blog post answers a real question and gives your reader a clear next step. In this tutorial, I share the mobile blogging workflow alongside practical writing and before-publishing checks for your Wix site.
The original video and artwork come from my 2023 article. They may show the former Wix Owner app or an older interface. Wix now calls the mobile tool the Wix app. Use the current help linked below when your screen differs.
Create a Wix blog post in the current app
Open the correct site in the Wix app
Go to Manage, then Blog and Posts. Create a new post or choose the one you want to edit. Follow Wix’s current post-composer guide if the labels differ.
Create a New Post
Give your post a clear, specific title that matches the question or story you are sharing. Check that you are editing the right post before replacing any existing text.
Craft Your Content
Add the main text in the body section. Write in a conversational tone, sharing your insights, tips, or stories. Aim for authenticity—your readers will appreciate it!
Enhance with Media
Add relevant pictures, videos or a gallery with the available media controls. Use images you have permission to share, keep meaningful captions and add factual alt text.
Finalize Your Post
Review the post settings before publishing. Check the excerpt, cover image, related posts, categories, tags and search preview.
Add an Excerpt: Write a short preview to attract clicks from readers browsing your blog.
Choose a Featured Image: Select an image that represents your post’s content. This will show up in previews and attract reader attention.
Link Related Posts: Choose up to 3 related posts to display at the bottom of your blog. This keeps readers engaged with more of your content.
Organize with Categories and Tags
Use the Categories and Tags tabs to help readers find your post. Categories group similar content, while tags improve searchability.
Optimize for SEO
Use a descriptive search title and concise summary that reflect the actual article. Search settings help explain the page; they do not guarantee rankings or clicks.
Save or Publish
Keep unfinished work as a draft. Preview the post on desktop and mobile, check its links and images, then publish only when it is ready. Afterward, open the live page and confirm that your changes appear.

Watch my original tutorial on YouTube. Treat the video as an introduction to the workflow, not a promise that every current button is in the same place.
Write a useful post your reader can follow
Writing a blog post that resonates with readers involves more than just sharing information. Follow these tips to create content that’s both informative and engaging:
Choose a Relevant Topic
Start with a subject that resonates with your target audience. What are their interests, questions, or challenges? Craft your post around these points to ensure it’s engaging.
Research Thoroughly
Conduct research and back your content with reliable sources. This adds credibility to your post and offers readers added value.
Write a Captivating Headline
Your headline is crucial. It’s what pulls readers in, so make it clear, catchy, and compelling.
Use Visuals
Break up your text with images, infographics, or videos. Visuals help readers absorb information and make your post more enjoyable.
Proofread Carefully
Edit and proofread to make sure your post is polished. Avoid grammar errors and typos—they distract from your message.
Promote Your Post
After publishing, share your blog on social media platforms. This drives traffic and expands your reach.
Before you publish: check the whole post
Read it from beginning to end, not just the introduction. Does the title match the content? Are paragraphs readable on a phone? Does each image have useful alt text? Do the links go to the intended destination? Are event dates, prices or offers still accurate?
Choose related articles that help your reader take the next step. Wix supports up to three selected related posts. See Wix’s related-post instructions. If selected cards do not display, check the shared Post page settings with the person responsible for the site design.
