Tart Wars 2024 St. Croix: Video, Photos and Highlights
Updated: 5 days ago
West Gyul’s Tart Wars brought tarts, entertainment and island style to Frederiksted, St. Croix, on July 13, 2024. It was more than a bake-off. It was a chance to enjoy the flavors and community spirit that made this day memorable.
Team Coconut, Team Guava and Team Pineapple came ready for the competition, and host Nikki Brooks kept the crowd laughing. Browse my original photos and watch the recap below to revisit the day.

Music, Mocko Jumbies and fire dancers
The entertainment added to the atmosphere, with Guardians of Culture Mocko Jumbies, Pura Fire Dancers, Dem Dudes and Stanley and the 10 Sleepless Knights. The fire performance with a glowing “Coco” was one of the moments that stood out in my original recap.
Team Pineapple’s best-dressed moment
The style was part of the fun, too. Team Pineapple took home the Best Dressed title, adding another reason to celebrate alongside the tarts and performances.
