Wow, what a day it was at the 2024 Ocean Co'Mocean Poker Run! 🌊 From the roaring engines to the laughter echoing across the waves, it was an unforgettable experience that surpassed all expectations.
Last year's Poker Run was lit, but this year? This year took the cake. Why? Because this year, I (Flo) got to hop on a boat and visit all the Poker Run stops firsthand, as one of the proud sponsors of the event and part of the media. And let me tell you, it was a sight to behold. For the most part I stayed on the boat until the final stop.
Picture this: beautiful boats slicing through the water, the adrenaline rush of speeding across the waves, and folks as far as the eye could see, all having the time of their lives. And here's the best part – you didn't even need your own boat to join in on the fun! Once you registered, you receive your scorecard and pull your 1st hand. You then could drive or boat to the next stops or just get to the last stop to pull the remainder cards for your hand. There was no need to know how to play poker. Next year I might try my luck.
Dance Off Competition STX vs STT
And then, just when we thought it couldn't get any better, St. Croix threw down the gauntlet and challenged us to a dance contest. Let's just say, you'll want to tune in below for the video to see how that turned out! 🕺💃
I took pictures (shown below) and video (above). I even took my drone out for a spin. Listen when I tell you I was beyond scared at the 1st stop when the wind was sooo strong that my mini drone refused to come back in. Too grateful that my workaround allowed me to bring my drone back in. The other sites weren't soo windy and so I tried again and all went well. I made sure to walk with my hydration backpack and it sure came in handy.

Cash Prize Winners
With prizes ranging from $8k, $4k, to $2k, the stakes were high, and the competition was fierce. Huge congratulations to all the winners – your victory was well-deserved! 🏆
But the excitement didn't stop there. Oh no, we also had the legendary Tag of War showdown. St. Thomas females faced off against St. Croix females, followed by an intense battle between the St. Thomas and St. Croix males. The energy was electric, and in the end, St. Thomas teams emerged victorious.
