Ocean Co’Mocean Poker Run 2024: Recap, Video and Photos

Wow, what a day it was at the 2024 Ocean Co’Mocean Poker Run! The May 5 event was presented by Funtime Jet Ski Rentals. From the roaring engines to the laughter across the waves, this was a day I will remember. Here are my recap video and 111 original gallery photos.
The previous year’s Poker Run was lit, but in 2024 I got to hop on a boat and visit the stops firsthand as a sponsor and part of the media. For most of the day, I stayed aboard until the final stop.
Picture beautiful boats slicing through the water and people enjoying the stops together. In 2024, you did not need your own boat to participate: after registering and drawing your first card, you could travel to the stops by boat or road, or reach the final stop to complete your hand. Those were the event’s arrangements that year; check with the organizer for any future event.
St. Croix vs. St. Thomas Dance-Off
St. Croix challenged St. Thomas to a dance contest. Watch the original clip below to see how that turned out!
I took pictures (shown below) and video (above). I even took my drone out for a spin. Listen when I tell you I was beyond scared at the 1st stop when the wind was sooo strong that my mini drone refused to come back in. Too grateful that my workaround allowed me to bring my drone back in. The other sites weren't soo windy and so I tried again and all went well. I made sure to walk with my hydration backpack and it sure came in handy.
Cash Prize Winners
The event’s cash prizes were $8,000, $4,000 and $2,000. Congratulations to the winners pictured below with their prize checks.

The tug-of-war showdown brought St. Thomas and St. Croix teams together for the women’s and men’s contests. From where I watched, St. Thomas came out on top. The friendly rivalry added another memory to the day.

As the sun began to dip, boats started heading home to Tortola, St. Croix and Puerto Rico. I left with pictures, footage and a different view of an event I had experienced from the shore the year before.
